Olcadan

Everyone seems to forget who the best Soul Calibur character is. He's a sassy owl-man... What's not to love?

Skateboard Project

Here's something I've been working on and off for a month or so- I took one of my old longboard decks and re-designed it.
I used a combination of pyrography (wood burning) for the line work, acrylic paint, woodstain, micron pens, and graphite. I was inspired by viking-age woodcarving, as well as stave churches in Norway. I did my best to make it look like an antique from that time, somewhat weathered and faded.

The Runes at the top are Futhark, one of the oldest runic alphabets, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elder_Futhark . The top two runes are "D" and "K" (my initials), while the ones in the circle spell, "Northern Star", which is taken from the Minnesota State Seal, L'etoile du Nord.

The design in blue is part of (from what I know) the Kuettel Family coat of arms, on record here: http://query.staatsarchiv.lu.ch/detail.aspx?ID=1624617 from Weggis in Lucerne, Switzerland.

First time I've ever used a woodburner, the going was slowwww

 Almost there!

Finished up! I'm relatively happy with it- there are definitely some things I'd do differently a second time around, but I learned a lot.

MGSV

Just a few more days until Metal Gear Solid V comes out! Pretty crazy to think that it was announced 3 years ago. Been a long wait!

Spring-Summer 2015

Lately I've been pretty busy at work- in a good way! There will hopefully be some very exciting things happening in the next few months.

Did this on a friend's dry-erase whiteboard while I was back in Mn for a bit.

Toon Boom Training

A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to get acquainted with the animation software we use at Floyd County for Chozen (as well as some of the more complex scenes in Archer).

I don't have a background in animation beyond some very basic work in After Effects, and obviously the keyframes I draw for the animation department on Archer. In any case, it was super fun to mess around with Toon Boom for a week, and I hope having knowledge of the basics will open up some more fun projects.

Never done this kind of weathering before, adding the moss was really fun. Still have to make a display base and do a little more cleanup, but overall I'd say its getting there.
